After being hired by an anonymous client to investigate a lunch theft, our avian investigator arrives at the BearBus office, a call centre for a public transportation company run by quirky anthropomorphic animals. One of the first things you’ll notice is that each character is drawn with a white outline around them, giving them a paper doll vibe.

The ambiance of this scene is subtly elevated by how Detective McQuacklin and the suspects interact within the office setting. It’s a unique and appealing artistic decision that effectively contributes to the comedic tone. Additionally, the voiceovers serve to animate each character and amplify the humor.

Duck Detective: get to know your suspects

Before your investigation can truly begin, you’ll need to learn the names and jobs of each suspect, starting with the giraffe at the reception desk. It’s a bit tricky, however, since said giraffe isn’t interested in chatting with you. With some top-notch sleuthing, you’ll soon charm your way into the BearBus main office and begin your investigation in earnest.

Absolutely, it’s on me to unravel the mystery of who’s hired for this task. Could it be the melancholic giraffe, the chattering sheep, or perhaps the anxious cat? The choice is mine to decipher. And let’s not forget about the elusive Salami Bandit, the lunch bandit who leaves behind slices of salami as his signature. It’s up to me to unmask this culprit.

When encountering each employee for the first time, you’ll scrutinize them closely with a keen eye, picking up valuable observations. For example, examining the crocodile might reveal that its vision isn’t particularly sharp.

To make progress in your investigation, you should question BearBus staff members, look for hints around the office, and use your notebook to connect the dots. You might also speak with the workers to gain insights into their relationships. During this 2-to-3-hour journey, you’ll uncover numerous significant clues. It’s crucial that you converse with each character regarding any evidence you discover, as this will help you uncover the truth.

Fill in the blanks in Duck Detective: Secret Salami

Once you’ve collected enough information, you can solve bits of the puzzle by opening your journal and filling in the blanks in mad-libs style. If you select to play story mode, you’ll receive hints when you fill in the blanks incorrectly.
