Originally planned for release following the debut of the initial Dune film, “Dune: Awakening” has encountered some setbacks and is now slated for a June launch. Prior to its wide release, an open beta test has been announced.
In May, enthusiasts have the opportunity to register and join the pre-launch trial (open beta) for Dune: Awakening, allowing them to explore Arrakis a full month ahead of schedule.
Dune: Awakening Open Beta – Start Time and How To Register
The open beta for the game “Dune: Awakening” is scheduled from May 9th to May 12th. You can join the beta by making a request for access through the game’s official Steam page.
For approximately a year, Awakening has been under closed beta testing. However, the upcoming beta weekend event is anticipated to offer a significant expansion, granting players access to around 20 hours of the storyline – essentially covering the majority of Act 1 within the broader narrative.
What’s an NDA?
It’s important to mention that unlike the closed beta phases for Dune: Awakening before it, the open beta won’t require a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Consequently, players can freely stream, share footage, and talk about their gameplay experiences, which is an effort to generate excitement.
To date, those who have participated in the closed beta have been expressing very positive comments about Dune: Awakening. This positive reception is undoubtedly a commendable achievement for Funcom following several postponements and initial doubts from the fan community. Even IGN has been favorable towards it.
