- Learn self-care by nurturing plants
- Keep promises to earn rewards
- Collect dust bunnies and plant Emotibuns
As a seasoned gamer with a heart full of wanderlust and a soul yearning for tranquility, Dustbunny: Emotions to Plants has found its way into my digital sanctuary. This game is like a breath of fresh air amidst the whirlwind of fast-paced action titles that have been my usual fare.
Everything moves so fast these days; sometimes, you just need to slow down, take a break, and practice self-care. Dustbunny: Emotions to Plants offers you a chance to do just that, all while discovering and nurturing plants. A slow-paced soothing experience, Dustbunny promotes self-care through mindfulness, encouraging you to explore your emotions.
With a charming rabbit named Empathy leading the way, your adventure starts by gathering what seems to be ordinary dust. But don’t be fooled, you aren’t actually collecting dust; instead, you’re seeking the mysterious Emotibuns, who cleverly disguise themselves as dust bunnies. These delightful creatures symbolize diverse emotions such as anger and anxiety, and when planted, they function like seeds.
Dustbunny: Emotions to Plants: Caring for Your Flora
Once you find an Emotibun, it’ll race around the room, and you’ll need to catch it before it disappears. You’ll then need to name it by either typing in a name or using the random name generator. Once potted, your Emotibun becomes a plant that you’ll need to nurture. As you level up, Empathy will provide you with cards you can use to
care for your plants
. You’ll start with the water card.
It’s beneficial to keep an eye on the moisture levels of your plants now and then. You can do this by tapping on a plant, which will bring up a small meter. However, use it sparingly as it needs time to recharge after a few uses. In Dustbunny: Emotions to Plants, you can be more thoughtful about monitoring your plants. By taking a closer look, you’ll easily notice if a plant requires watering, needs a larger pot, or other care.
If tiny white creatures are moving around a plant, it’s likely infested with pests. To get rid of these pests, choose the ‘Clean’ option and tap on each little creature thoroughly to eliminate them. Just as letting go is an essential part of self-care, you can use the ‘Let Go’ card to bid farewell to a plant that no longer suits your needs or desires.
After a plant has three leaves, it won’t grow further until you transplant it into a medium-sized pot. To do this, wait for your repotting reminder and then buy the suitable pot from our in-game store before proceeding.
Keep Your Promises
Rather than quests, Empathy tasks you with promises to keep. Keeping promises rewards you with energy or sparkles. Energy is required to use any cards on a plant, as well as for crafting recipes, while sparkles are store currency. Some typical quest goals include collecting dust bunnies, finding a certain number of Emotibuns, and crafting recipes.
Give the food bowl a gentle tap and choose a recipe to prepare. Tapping Cookies summon Emotibuns who, when consuming a Dust Cupcake, transform into unusual or scarce plants. These Emotibuns are leisurely nibblers, so you can effortlessly capture them since they won’t be in a panic to run away.
As you advance, you’ll gain the ability to cultivate an increasing number of plants. But if you’ve reached your maximum capacity or simply prefer not to plant your newly-acquired Emotibun, you have the option to free it in exchange for a sparkle instead.
Play Energy Mini Games in Dustbunny: Emotions to Plants
You can also earn energy from the paper plane and bubble tea mini-games. The latter tasks you with slurping up as many bubbles as possible before you finish drinking your tea. Navigate around ice cubes and aim your straw at bubbles to suck them up. Each bubble you collect nets you one energy.
The Paper Airplane game requires a bit more skill. To earn energy, try to hit balloons floating outside the window; each burst balloon gives you five points. But watch out, aiming can be tough and remember to open the window beforehand. Also, make sure you’ve properly positioned the windowpanes as sliding them both towards the center of the window gives you more room for your airplane to fly.
Customize Your Space in Dustbunny: Emotions to Plants
You can also customize your room to really make it your own. Head to the décor section of the store to purchase new wallpaper, floors, and bedding. Décor comes in a variety of colours and patterns, and the selection is updated every day.
Apart from that, you could consider updating the look of your space by acquiring fresh pieces like a new bed frame, study table, or pet bowl. Even though modifying the appearance of your room doesn’t impact functionality much, it remains an enjoyable touch that helps create a cozier feel within your digital living area.
Dustbunny: Emotions to Plants is a great way to learn about mindfulness and practice self-care while engaging in soothing activities. The calming gameplay with a focus on observing and caring for plants clearly has the effect the developers were aiming for. While trying to catch a panicked Emotibun can be a bit frustrating, the overall experience is one of serenity and self-gratitude.
