DWTS' Witney Carson Has Come Painfully Close To Her Second Victory For Several Seasons, So We Asked How She’s Feeling Ahead Of Season 33’s Finale

As a long-time fan of Dancing With The Stars, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions watching Witney Carson‘s journey throughout the years. From her early triumph with Alfonso Ribeiro to her subsequent close calls, she’s proven time and again that she’s a force to be reckoned with on the dance floor.

It’s quite astonishing to consider the impressive winning streak that Witney Carson has maintained on “Dancing With The Stars,” given she’s only amassed a single mirrorball trophy. Now, after the shocking revelation during the semi-finals, we’ll witness her team up with ex-NFL receiver Danny Amendola as they strive for her second win. In anticipation of their upcoming battle in the finale, I was keen to hear her thoughts as the Fall TV schedule approaches.

In an exclusive chat, we caught up with Carson ahead of the Season 33 finale on ABC, streaming for viewers with a Disney+ subscription. It’s worth noting that while Carson is no stranger to finale nights, her last win was over a decade ago when current co-host Alfonso Ribeiro took the title. However, she acknowledged the fact that fans of Dancing With The Stars are well aware of this, and she started off lightheartedly by making a joke about it.

To tell you the truth, I’ve come to terms with it. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I might always be in second place. Don’t worry though, I’m doing just fine, chuckling here [laughs]. I’ve been second, and even third, quite a few times. However, what truly matters to me now is not about winning, but rather crafting exceptional and extraordinary performances week after week. It’s about enjoying my work and the love I have for it.

In the most recent season of “Dancing With The Stars,” Witney Carson reached third place alongside Wayne Brady during Season 31. Previously, she also ended up in third place with Frankie Muniz in Season 25, and secured second place with Kel Mitchell in Season 28, as well as Milo Manheim in Season 27. While she has had some early exits with certain contestants, her history of success is more prominent than instances of elimination.

Even though it’s been ten years since she first won the Mirrorball Trophy during her second season, Witney Carson, a longtime Dancing With The Stars competitor, aims not to solely concentrate on winning. Instead, her focus lies elsewhere, particularly in relation to her celebrity partner.

Rather than strictly adhering to the norms associated with my fame, I prefer focusing on each action I take, living fully present without overly dwelling on the results. Of course, triumph would be fantastic, but for now, it’s about being mindful of my actions and staying immersed in the current experience.

This season, I’ve found myself particularly impressed by Danny Amendola, even going as far as to label him my unexpected favorite to take the top spot. It seems that when other competitors like Ilona Maher attempt to mimic his dance moves on TikTok, it’s a clear indication that he’s hitting the right notes. If her objective for this season was to make unforgettable, impactful moments, she’s certainly achieved that already.

TopMob additionally interviewed Brandon Armstrong regarding his participation on “Dancing With The Stars”, and it’s relevant because his viewpoints align closely with those expressed by Witney Carson. Unlike some, Brandon isn’t tossing and turning over dance routines or fretting about securing the grand victory. Instead, both Brandon and Witney focus on helping celebrities excel in their performances. This fresh angle is intriguing as it challenges the assumption that everyone strives for the show’s top honor, seeking the prestige of being its ultimate winner.

In the upcoming finale on Tuesday, November 26th, starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC and Disney+, we’ll find out who takes home the trophy for Season 33 of “Dancing With The Stars”. To be honest, I’ve grown fond of all the remaining contestants, so whichever one wins, I’ll be thrilled!
