As a hardcore gamer and skating enthusiast who grew up with the original SKATE series, this news has me stoked like a halfpipe on a sunny day! After all these years, it feels like I’m finally getting my board back after misplacing it at the local skate park.
The much-anticipated return of EA’s “skate” game will come in early access form soon. This skateboarding video game series debuted in 2007, telling the story of a skater climbing the ranks to fame within the sport. The franchise has seen four more releases since then, with the latest one hitting shelves in 2010.
The developer responsible for “skate”, EA Black Box, was closed down in 2010, effectively ending the series. However, in 2020, Electronic Arts (EA) revealed that a new installment of “skate” is being developed by its Full Circle studio and the original team behind the game.
The game titled “Skate 4” is scheduled for an early release next year. However, Electronic Arts (EA) has not provided detailed information yet. They promised to reveal more about the upcoming features in the following months.
