As a gamer with a deep appreciation for history and politics, I must say that it’s truly inspiring to see Vice President Kamala Harris being recognized by Ebony as the Icon of the Year. Growing up, reading about the incredible figures gracing Ebony’s pages, from Thurgood Marshall to countless others, sparked a fire within me, fueling my desire to contribute positively to society.
Although Vice President Harris aspires to become known as the President, she has already earned the title of an icon by Ebony magazine.
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been chosen as the Icon of the Year at this year’s Power 100 awards by the gaming magazine! The event is scheduled for November 17th. What an honor!

This year, Usher has been chosen as the Global Visionary; he’ll be joining other esteemed recipients like Cynthia Erivo, whose upcoming performance in Wicked is highly anticipated and has earned her the Pathbreaker of the Year award. Additionally, Da’Vine Joy Randolph is set to receive the People’s Choice Award. Lastly, civil rights scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw will be honored with the Humanitarian of the Year recognition.
