Elden Ring Nightreign Latest Patch Shadowdropped Its First Enhanced Boss

Yesterday, the latest update, version 1.01.3, was launched for Elden Ring: Nightreign. Appearing to focus on fixing bugs and enhancing user experience, it initially seemed like an unremarkable release. However, as players continued with their usual activities, some began noticing a fresh option within the Expeditions menu.

A fresh project by Gaping Jaw, titled “Everdark Sovereign,” has been included on the list of Expeditions. It soon became evident that FromSoftware had kept their word about enriching Elden Ring Nightreign with stronger bosses this month, and they did so stealthily, giving players a chance to unwittingly encounter the new endeavor. Observing the community figure out these developments during the wee hours was quite engaging.

According to Bandai Namco’s announcement this morning, powerful variants of the Nightlords, known as Everdark Sovereigns, will gradually appear in Elden Ring: Nightreign over the next few weeks. Each week, a fresh Everdark Sovereign will materialize in Limveld. At present, Gaping Jaw is the current Sovereign, and both the Sentient Pest and Darkdrift Knight are scheduled to receive tougher, upgraded versions in the near future.

As an avid gamer, I’ve come to appreciate the intriguing Everdark Sovereigns that grace our game world only during online sessions. Each Sovereign stays active for a week before vanishing and making way for a new one. To engage with the Everdark Sovereign form of the Nightlord, one must have successfully conquered its base, original version first.

Initial feedback suggests that the upgraded Gaping Jaw has indeed been significantly improved. Battle videos depict Adel swiftly maneuvering across the battlefield, summoning colossal storms, and effortlessly overpowering groups of three opponents almost instantly.

This…Just feels like alot right now…

The Everdark Sovereign battle can be faced alone or in a group, with friends or strangers, but this new fight seems to ramp up the difficulty, even for Elden Ring Nightreign veterans who have spent countless hours playing. It reminds me of Monster Hunter’s post-launch tougher fights, such as Tempered monsters, designed to provide additional challenges as players grow exponentially knowledgeable and powerful over time.

As a gamer, I can tell you that taking down an Everdark Sovereign will bring about some exciting perks! A fresh new store nestled in the heart of our hub area is now open for business, where all those Sovereign Sigils you’ll earn from defeating him can be spent. This shop itself is a thrilling upgrade, but it’s not just any ordinary store.

In this shop, you’ll find rare Relics and other valuable items up for grabs. But that’s not all! The Sovereign Sigils also grant the power to modify the lighting in the Roundtable Hold, snatch the current skins on offer, and even set the earth to shift positions – something the gaming community has been eagerly asking for, and it’s fantastic to see this request being addressed.

Just a small performance/bug fixing update. Nothing major…

Initially, the updates outlined in version 1.01.3 appeared rather modest. However, players are now expressing their view that this update is quite substantial. The revamped bosses have already injected a fresh sense of life and difficulty into Nightreign, sparking excitement for future enhancements. Additionally, the introduction of new temporary objectives to pursue has added an extra layer of intrigue.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel excited by Bandai Namco’s hint that “This is merely the start of the Everdark Sovereign cycle.” Just as the Night’s influence waxes and wanes, so too will the Sovereigns retrace their steps back to the dark abyss they emerged from. Given that Elden Ring: Nightreign is scheduled for further updates, it seems that FromSoft’s latest cooperative survival action game has a promising future ahead.
