In the time leading up to its release, there was some doubt about the co-op roguelike action RPG spinoff called “Elden Ring Nightreign” given its departure from the typical work of developer FromSoftware. However, the studio’s positive reputation and the enormous fan base of the “Elden Ring” IP have paved the way for a promising beginning for the game, at least in terms of player numbers on PC.
According to SteamDB, Elden Ring Nightreign had a peak of 313,593 players simultaneously on its release day on Thursday. It’ll be intriguing to watch the player count grow (or if it does) in the coming days, particularly as the game’s first post-launch weekend is upon us. Keep in mind that the peak number of players might increase even more over the next few days.
Indeed, while Elden Ring boasted approximately three times the number of simultaneous Steam players at its peak, reaching over 953,000 players, Nightreign, being a spinoff with distinct gameplay, is managing to maintain a substantial playerbase when considered independently.
You can play Elden Ring Nightreign on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or your personal computer. Check out our review of the game by following this link.
