Instead of expecting FromSoftware to reveal the main character of Elden Ring: Nightreign just before release, it’s now the Wylder’s time to shine. Commonly referred to as John Nightreign, he is equipped with a winged helmet and prefers a two-handed sword in combat. Interestingly, he can also use this sword with one hand for defense, effectively parrying attacks with a buckler.
Regarding his abilities, the Wylder is equipped with a wrist-mounted crossbow that can fire a potent explosive bolt. He has an innate dodge skill, which creates more space between him and his adversaries. However, what sets him apart is his grappling hook for movement and the ability to grab enemies, drawing the Wylder nearer to strike.
Two additional characters from Elden Ring Nightreign, the supposed Executor and Revenant summoner, are yet to be unveiled, so keep an eye out for further announcements. Elden Ring Nightreign is set to release on May 30th, compatible with Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC systems.
