Elden Ring movie cast ideas

Due to the vast array of characters in this game, being FromSoft’s biggest yet, I’ve chosen to focus on the most significant ones: The demigod offspring, their ancestors, the Tarnished, and Gideon Ofnir. It’s unlikely that a single budget could accommodate all these roles simultaneously, but together they would create an extraordinary cast.

Alexander Skarsgaard as Tarnished

Among several gifted family members from the Skarsgaard lineage, Alexander stands out as one who has graced both films and television series with award-winning performances. His portrayal in The Northman suggests he would excel at a warrior role within a mythical environment like that of Elden Ring, effortlessly tackling the challenges posed by characters such as Marika and Radagon without ever appearing misplaced.

Emma Myers as Melina

Emma Myers, a fresh face in acting circles, has made appearances in Netflix’s “Wednesday” and more recently, “The Minecraft Movie.” This experience has equipped her with skills suitable for fantastical roles and adaptations from video games. Notably, she shares a striking resemblance to the character Melina, making her an ideal candidate to portray the Maiden in “The Tarnished.

Ralph Ineson as Gideon Ofnir

Among all individuals across the globe, none possesses a voice more fitting for video games than Ralph Ineson, who has previously lent his voice to multiple titles, such as Diablo 4. Additionally, he’s graced the screen in movies and series like The Witch, where mythology, legend, folklore, and fantasy intertwine. Given this background, Ralph Ineson is an exceptional choice for the cunning Gideon Ofnir of the Roundtable Hold, a character known for his deceitful nature.

Lena Headey as Marika

It is indispensable that the legendary character, Cersei Lannister, portrayed by George R.R. Martin, graces the screen in a film adaptation. Actors from the acclaimed series “Game of Thrones” are featured here, not only due to their expertise in fantasy but also their ties with Martin and exceptional acting abilities. Dye her hair red, and she would undoubtedly be among the most compelling characters in the movie, without a doubt.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Radagon

You know, I didn’t intentionally pair Jamie Lannister with Cersei as their fictional character, or symbiote, in the cast. With so many characters, it was easy to get mixed up during the casting process. It wasn’t until later that I realized the perfect fit between the two characters. Some might call it fate, but given his striking looks and experience with fantasy roles, he proved to be an exceptional choice for Radagon. Much like with Headey, a simple dye job to make his hair red and long was all it took to bring him into character.

Ralph Fiennes as Margit

Fiennes is renowned as one of the most versatile actors globally, having portrayed characters ranging from despicable villains to heartrending heroes. His latest role was Odysseus, which he pulled off impressively, and his wide-ranging talent allows him to convincingly embody diverse roles such as Margit-Morgott, the last of the kings.

Michael Sheen as Mohg

As a devoted admirer, I may not be as widely recognized as Fiennes, but I’m the Welsh actor often celebrated for my spellbinding movie performances on rare occasions and consistent award-winning theater roles. I have an affinity for delving into the depths of mythological and romanticist dramas that surpasses many others. If given the opportunity, I could effortlessly slip into the role of Mohg, a character that requires such a deep understanding.

Although some might question the physical appearance of these Omen characters, it’s highly probable that they will be heavily influenced by CGI technology. In such a scenario, what truly matters is not just the looks but the power of voice acting and raw, unadulterated talent.

David Bradley as Godrick

Despite his advanced age, Bradley’s acting as Walder Frey showcases his potential for voice acting as Godrick. Since Godrick is likely to be created using CGI or motion capture due to his dragon-grafted body, Bradley could continue to channel his inner Frey while portraying another of Martin’s characters. Modern facial scanning technologies can also help the CGI Godrick bear a striking resemblance to Bradley.

Emily Blunt as Rennala

In a more natural and engaging way: Rennala is typically quite reserved, making it crucial to bring her to life with captivating performances. Given Emily Blunt’s exceptional acting skills, demonstrated in the movie A Quiet Place, where her character communicates primarily through actions rather than words, she seems like an ideal choice for this role.

Saoirse Ronan as Ranni

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but be captivated by Saoirse Ronan’s exceptional portrayal of Ranni in our favorite game world. Her striking resemblance and impeccable acting skills make her an ideal choice for the character we all know as Ranni. With her chillingly cold demeanor, quiet resilience, and sharp intellect, she embodies the essence of this influential figure perfectly. It’s rare to find an actress who could handle such a challenging role with grace and skill, but Ronan delivers in spades.

Alan Ritchson as Radahn

Radahn is a massive, quiet, and towering general, whose imposing stature and power exude an air of command. Notably, Alan Ritchson, who played the title role in Reacher, seems ideal for embodying a military leader capable of summoning celestial bodies to appear in the realm known as the Lands Between.

Willem Defoe as Rykard

Again, it’s highly likely that the colossal snake character Rykard, standing at a staggering 100 feet tall, will predominantly be computer-generated imagery (CGI). Considering the in-game Rykard sports a face on one of its snakey sides, advanced technology might be employed to overlay Defoe’s visage onto the side of this towering CGI serpent. With his formidable acting skills, as demonstrated in “The Northman” and “Nosferatu”, Defoe’s talents will undoubtedly be harnessed to breathe life into this enigmatic and fascinating character.

Andy Serkis as Maliketh

If a character is four-legged, ferocious, and can only be realistically portrayed using motion capture technology, Andy Serkis is an ideal choice for the role. He’s renowned as one of the best CGI and motion-capture actors globally, having made his mark with his performance as Gollum in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and would bring a captivating darkness to this character who wields death runes.

Henry Cavill as Godfrey (Hoarah Loux)

If Andy Serkis is the go-to for any CGI challenge, then Henry Cavill fits perfectly when you need a chiseled warrior appearing on screen. His performances as Superman and Geralt of Rivia provide him with ample fantasy experience, while his passion for source material and video games would further enrich this role. Moreover, he embodies the physicality required for the part of Hoarah Loux, one of the final adversaries in Elden Ring.

Elizabeth Debicki as Malenia

Elizabeth Debicki, who stands at 6’2″, is a perfect fit for the role of Malenia due to her towering stature and exceptional acting abilities. Her versatile career, spanning various genres such as ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’, demonstrates her aptitude for handling complex fantasy roles. This makes her an ideal candidate for portraying FromSoftware’s challenging boss character.

Hey there! As a gamer, I’d like to chip in on the fun and share my thoughts on who could play some of the intriguing characters from our game. For instance, if we’re talking about The Dung Eater, I’d pick an actor who can portray a character with both depth and disgust, someone like Christian Bale or Willem Dafoe.

As for the Merchants, I think Michael Keaton or Tim Curry would be perfect for their roles. They have that knack for playing characters with cunning charm that these merchants possess. And of course, if we’re revisiting any of the roles already covered, I could see Robert Downey Jr. bringing a unique twist to The Assassin, or Lupita Nyong’o adding an enchanting touch as The Enchanteress. What do you think?
