As a seasoned gamer with an extensive library of fantasy and supernatural titles under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for Elizabeth McGovern‘s role in “Anne Rice’s The Talamasca.” Having grown up watching Downton Abbey and admiring her versatile acting skills, it’s a delight to see her take on such an intriguing character.
Actress Elizabeth McGovern, known for her role in Downton Abbey, has secured a leading part opposite Nicholas Denton in the Anne Rice’s The Talamasca drama produced by AMC Networks.
In 2025, the third installment of AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe, titled “The Talamasca” (working title), will premiere on both AMC and AMC+. McGovern has been cast as Helen in this series, which follows the earlier productions “Interview With The Vampire” and “Mayfair Witches”. This new drama revolves around a secretive society known as The Talamasca, a key element in many of Anne Rice’s novels.
The upcoming six-episode series originally featuring Nicholas Denton as main character Guy Anatole, now centers on individuals tasked with locating and controlling supernatural beings like witches, vampires, and other creatures spread throughout the world. It was also previously revealed that William Fichtner would be part of the expansive cast.
McGovern will portray Helen, an experienced member of the Talamasca and head of its New York branch. For some time, she’s harbored doubts about the integrity of the London Motherhouse, believing it may have been infiltrated by treacherous forces. A puzzling death sets events in motion, leading her to enlist Guy Anatole as her apprentice.
In the United Kingdom, “Anne Rice’s The Talamasca” television series is being executive produced by John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty, who are also serving as co-showrunners. Additionally, Mark Johnson is overseeing the Anne Rice Immortal Universe. Notably, Hancock will also be directing this production.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates from the gaming world! Just when we thought the captivating tale of “Interview With the Vampire” had reached its climax with the critically acclaimed finale of its second season, it was swiftly renewed for a third season before the curtains even closed! This groundbreaking series marked the beginning of the AMC franchise, and now, we can’t wait for “Mayfair Witches” to grace our screens once more in early 2025 with its eagerly anticipated second season.
McGovern is represented by UTA, Tavistock Wood Management and Anonymous Content.
