Eminem Announces 'The Death of Slim Shady' Expanded Mourner's Edition

As a long-time Eminem fan, I can’t help but feel a mix of nostalgia and excitement upon hearing about his latest surprise release, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” Expanded Mourner’s Edition. The way he subtly hinted at the end of an era through that milk carton stunt was pure genius – classic Eminem, really!

Eminem is set to astonish his fans again, dropping a new release on the 13th this month, which also happens to be Friday the 13th. The renowned rapper has shared news about The Final Curtain for Slim Shady (Last Breath), an extended version of the Mourner’s Edition.

In a brief video, he unveiled the enlarged version of his work, where Eminem is depicted entering a convenience store, picking up a carton of milk from the refrigerator but accidentally dropping it on the floor. On the side of the spilled milk container is an advertisement for his Slim Shady persona, hidden until the accident. Exiting the store, producer Alchemist emerges from behind the counter, admonishing Eminem not to return again.

This album signifies the conclusion of Eminem’s Slim Shady persona. Known as The Farewell of Slim Shady, this concept album serves as a poignant send-off for Eminem to bid adieu to his alter ego, granting the brash character one grand finale. The album dropped in July and among its hits were “Houdini” and “Tobey”, both featuring Big Sean and Babytron, along with “Somebody Save Me”, a collaboration with Jelly Roll.

Watch the teaser below and gear up for the release on September 13.
