Eminem‘s group has forcefully criticized the illegal sharing of approximately 30 unheard tracks from Eminem that appeared online this week. The leaked compilation covers about two decades of the rapper’s career, showcasing collaborations with prominent hip-hop artists such as 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg, and Anderson .Paak.
For several years, their regular representative, Dennis Dennehy, expressed the team’s discontent in a statement to XXL Magazine: “The songs that were leaked were studio works that weren’t intended for public listening. They are drafts, explorations, and concepts that are outdated and not significant now after so many years.
This leak contains samples of recent songs such as “Little Engine” and “Discombobulated,” alongside previously unheard older tracks. One of the standout leaks is “Smack You,” a fiery diss track targeting Suge Knight. In this song, Eminem pointedly implicates Knight in the deaths of 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G., demonstrating his signature sharp wit as he delves into some of hip-hop’s most contentious episodes.
Regarding the recent leak, Eminem’s camp has promptly acted to pull the exposed tracks off sites such as YouTube and social networks. Yet, this event underscores a rising concern in the music world, where artists face heightened risks of data leaks and invasions into their artistic confidentiality.
