Eminem Reveals Emotional “Temporary” Music Video

As a gamer who has grown up with Eminem’s music as the soundtrack to my teenage years, this news hits me like a lyrical freight train. The rap legend, a figure I’ve admired for his raw talent and emotional depth, is about to become a grandfather!

In simpler terms, Eminem has used his artistic platform to announce some significant news. In the music video for his song “Temporary,” which features Skylar Grey in the track “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” Eminem discloses that his daughter Hailie Jade is expecting a baby, implying that he will soon become a grandfather.

Instead of asking “Am I afraid of death?”, Eminem admits what truly terrifies him is not being able to express all the things he wants to tell someone when he’s gone. Thus, this song is dedicated to Hailie for a time when that day arrives, opening with an introspective tone.

Initially, the scene displays an assortment of vintage photographs depicting Hailie, followed by a shift to old family videos. As the narrative progresses, more contemporary clips emerge, featuring Hailie and Em, captured during Hailie’s wedding held in May.

At the conclusion of the music video, Hailie presents her father with a Detroit Lions jersey that reads “Grandpa” and carries an ultrasound picture.
