The 2025 Emmy nominations announcement is about to begin.
As a game enthusiast, I’m eagerly waiting for the nominees in the first two categories – reality competition series and talk series – to be unveiled on CBS Mornings at 7:47 a.m. Eastern Time or 4:47 a.m. Pacific Time. Can’t wait to see who made it to the list!
Around eleven thirty a.m. Eastern Time or eight thirty a.m. Pacific Time later today, I’ll be tuning into a live stream to hear about the nominees in some of the top categories. This exciting announcement will be made by Harvey Guillén from “What We Do in the Shadows”, Brenda Song from “Running Point”, and Cris Abrego, who chairs the Television Academy. Can’t wait to see who makes it on the list!
Audience members can catch the live broadcast of the announcement directly from the Wolf Theatre, located within the TV Academy’s Saban Media Center, either on the official Emmys website or the TV Academy’s YouTube channel.
On September 14th (at 8 p.m. Eastern Time/5 p.m. Pacific Time), the 77th Emmy Awards, hosted by Nate Bargatze, will broadcast live on CBS from the Peacock Theater in L.A. You can stream it live or watch it on demand on Paramount+.
Before the main event, most Emmy Awards for various categories will be given out during the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 6th and 7th.
At the 2024 Emmy Awards, “Hacks” was awarded best comedy series, as well as best comedy actress (Jean Smart) and writing for a comedy series. Meanwhile, “Shogun” took home the top prize for best drama series and 17 other awards. Additionally, “Baby Reindeer” won the category for best limited series and five other awards. Although it lost the top award for best comedy series to “Hacks”, “The Bear” set a new record with its 11 wins in a single season for a comedy, surpassing its previous tally of 10 from the preceding year.
In the realm of reality competitions, “The Traitors” emerged victorious against long-time champion “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” and “The Daily Show,” with the return of Jon Stewart as host, claimed the title for the best talk series on Mondays.
