For quite some time, Eric Emanuel has been synonymous with New York City, and its premier athleticwear brand proudly stands at 91 Greene St in downtown NYC. After being closed for renovations for several months, the SoHo store is set to reopen tomorrow, Friday, March 7. The new design of the store promises a fresh look.
The main upgrades for this brand’s store were made approximately four years after it started operations, showcasing distinctive elements across its two-story structure that reflect the initial store’s design. Notably, Eric Emanuel collaborated with John Margaritis of New York Sunshine, a longtime partner, to create a striking basketball sculpture for this project. They worked together with Gensler, an architecture and design firm, on this task.
On the upper level, you’ll find a 20-foot long wall made of white oak, adorned with a unique set of ceramic trophy statues created by artist Jake Clark. This collection is complemented by vibrant accents of green marble, harmoniously contrasted with wooden, glass, and metal elements.
Ascending the stairs will lead you to the EE lounge, a space modeled after the brand’s residence, as described in a press release. It boasts floor-to-ceiling rugs custom designed by Noreen Seabrook, a longtime collaborator from New York, a chandelier crafted from metalwork by New York Sunshine, and a sofa upholstered with fabrics from Missoni Roche Bobois.
Regarding clothing, the upper floor showcases fresh ready-to-wear pieces such as outerwear, knitwear, and others. On the lower level, you’ll find an exclusive collection, including the Eric Emanuel x Converse collaboration of iconic High-Tops, some Eric Emanuel x Swarovski loungewear, and a selection of classic NYC graphic designs.
