As a longtime fan of Flatbush Zombies, I’ve been eagerly following Erick the Architect‘s solo journey, and his debut album, “I’ve Never Been Here Before,” has not disappointed. With its raw energy and profound lyrics, it perfectly encapsulates Erick’s life experiences growing up in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, and his subsequent moves to California and Jamaica.
Known for his contributions to Flatbush Zombies, Erick the Architect embarked on a solo journey with his first album titled “I’ve Never Been Here Before“. This album was launched in February and since then, the multi-talented musician (instrumentalist, producer, and rapper) has been performing it live across various venues in 2024.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the creator has just announced a deluxe version of the game “I’ve Never Been Here Before”! This enhanced edition is set to launch on November 15, and it promises five fresh levels to explore. One of these new additions is the level titled “Beverly Drive,” which will undoubtedly be a hit among players like me!
Now available for streaming, the song showcases the artist acknowledging the locations that have influenced him throughout his life. Born in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, Eric spends part of his time in California and Jamaica at present.
The neighborhood where I grew up is Beverly Road, and Beverly Drive, another location in California where I currently reside, are both places within my state. I began composing this song while in Beverly Drive, Jamaica. Throughout my life, I’ve had to find a delicate balance between survival and the innate wisdom that guided me, constantly being aware of my environment and making the necessary choices to evade danger. With this track, I aim to transport listeners back to my hometown and shed light on the city I hold dear.
Listen to “Beverly Drive” by Erick the Architect across all platforms right now! On November 15, the complete deluxe version of “I’ve Never Been Here Before” will be released.
