Images of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, her character looking fantastic as always, have resurfaced, indicating her return in 2026. The rough and edgy heroine, sorely absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over five years, is set to make a thrilling re-entry into the franchise.

Photos released by Marvel Studios reveal Krysten Ritter shooting fresh scenes for Daredevil: Born Again while wearing her Jessica Jones costume. This marks the first appearance of Ritter’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the 2019 season of Jessica Jones on Netflix, which brought an end to Ritter’s work within the Defenders Saga after a prolonged break.

Concealed somewhat by an extensive collection of letters, Ritter can be seen putting on her traditional black t-shirt and black leather jacket, with her inky-black hair billowing in the breeze in a snap from Getty Images. In this picture, she is positioned beside Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock, who is all geared up in the black Daredevil costume he will employ during Marvel Studios’ rendition of the Shadowlands tale from Marvel Comics.

A separate image showcases Ritter’s entire outfit, with her striding through New York City in torn blue denims and black combat boots. Off-character, Charlie Cox is spotted strolling next to her, donning a baseball cap and an oversized winter coat that conceals his fresh costume for the Born Again Season 2.

In a different photo, Ritter pauses to give a friendly wave towards the camera. Here, she’s clad in a long black coat much like Cox’s, which serves to conceal her traditional outfit.

During Disney’s Upfront presentation in May 2025, it was confirmed that Krysten Ritter would reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the MCU. Previously, she portrayed this character in three seasons of her standalone series on Netflix and in the 2017 season of The Defenders. With her return, she joins Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher as key figures who have reentered the franchise.

In a thrilling continuation, Daredevil: Reborn will pick up the tale of the Man Without Fear following his sensational return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2025. Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, and Vincent D’Onofrio are set to reprise their roles, with Kingpin at odds with Daredevil who is now a fugitive on the run from Fisk as he imposes his anti-vigilante policies onto the city now under martial law. The second season of Daredevil: Reborn is currently in production and is slated for release on Disney+ in 2026.
