Spoilers ahead for Thunderbolts*.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe consistently keeps its audience excited with fresh projects gracing both theaters and Disney+ streaming platform. The most recent film making waves at cinemas is “Thunderbolts*“, a blockbuster hit. During Marvel’s live cast stream, many actors for the upcoming film “Avengers: Doomsday” were announced, including Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry. The actor from “Top Gun: Maverick” has been candid about his return to the role and hinted at a potentially perilous character arc in the forthcoming Marvel film.

Information regarding “Avengers: Doomsday” is scarce, but fans are excited about witnessing different superhero teams clash and collaborate. It was hinted in the “Thunderbolts” finale that the main team was actually the New Avengers, and they’ll be back on the big screen next year. When asked by Men’s Health about a possible return of his ominous character, The Void, Pullman suggested:

I’m genuinely thrilled to learn more about this individual. The Thunderbolts are keen on keeping a close eye on him due to their understanding that, if falling into the wrong group or lacking adequate support from the right circles, he could potentially pose a risk.

Instead of choosing a typical antagonist, Bob morphed into The Void, isolating New York City and its inhabitants in individual chambers of past traumas. However, Yelena and her team managed to restore him, yet it’s likely that this ominous figure might resurface once more. Meanwhile, Pullman is curious about the direction his character will take in the future.

On Disney+, you can find the home of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) streaming experience. The new ad-supported plan is available at $9.99 per month, while an ad-free option costs $15.99 per month. Alternatively, opt for a 16% discount and pre-pay $159.99 annually to enjoy a year of uninterrupted streaming. Check out the deal now!

During the duration of “Thunderbolts,” Bob underwent an extraordinary transformation. Initially, he was just a normal, powerless individual found in Valentina’s vault. However, he later became the immensely powerful Sentry, only to eventually become The Void. By the end of the film, it appeared that his powers had disappeared, but there’s a possibility they may return. In the same interview, Pullman discussed the New Avengers’ perspective on him, stating:

I find myself drawn to him, not just for his exceptional skills, but also because they seem to hold onto him as a valuable resource. In the intricate web that is Avengers: Doomsday, there’s an air of anticipation; each character offers a potential role to unravel, and Bob seems no exception. The situation appears complex, yet I can’t help but wonder how his story will intertwine with the others.

Apart from determining their role within the MCU as the New Avengers, this team will concurrently grapple with understanding the peculiarities surrounding Bob and his abilities. In his Sentry form, he exhibited an overwhelming strength that could potentially be beneficial in the impending confrontation against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. However, he must learn to harness his powers without succumbing to The Void again.

Thunderbolts is currently playing in cinemas, and Avengers: Doomsday will join it on May 1st, 2026. However, before that, Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released on July 25th as part of the 2025 movie lineup.
