Escape from Tarkov: How to unlock Rare Arena Crates

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours clocked in Escape from Tarkov, I can confidently say that the thrill of opening a rare Arena crate is unparalleled. These blue and grey beauties, adorned with a Lega Medal print, have been my elusive treasure hunt for far too long.

In simpler terms, if you own special crates from the Arena expansion of Escape from Tarkov, you can move them into the regular play mode, offering an intriguing challenge with attractive prizes upon successful unlock.

To break these crates open, you’ll have to advance quite a bit into the game first, but if you’re lucky enough to have the right kind of crate, the delay could turn out to be rewarding.

In the Arena, you’ll find four Uncommon Containers that you can transport to Escape from Tarkov. Each one of these containers offers exclusive rewards once unlocked. Here they are:

  • Supply Crate (Rare)
  • Equipment Crate (Rare)
  • Valuables Crate (Rare)
  • Weapon Crate (Rare)

They are all recognisable by their blue and grey design, alongside the print of a Lega Medal.

In the game Escape from Tarkov, the unique crates referred to as the Rare Crates can exclusively be gained through the Arena expansion. Generally, these crates serve as rewards for the daily and weekly missions assigned by Ref.

To get these items, it’s essential that you have and frequently play Arena, since that’s where they can be found. Fortunately, thanks to the introduction of shared characters, the time you spend in Arena won’t feel like a waste, as any XP you gain beyond your current Private Military Company (PMC) level will be carried over to the main game.

Additionally, you’ll have an opportunity to collect numerous GP Coins and Lega Medals, useful for the main game, through Ref. This could undoubtedly provide you with a significant advantage as you prepare for your upcoming raid.

For every Crate’s creation, it’s fortunate that the essential three items are categorized as auxiliary. Consequently, they won’t be discarded but kept after each creation, sparing you the need to repeatedly purchase replacements, a costly endeavor over time.

Every crate offers a distinct collection of possible prizes, meaning there’s no certain item that appears when you open a fresh one.

You could be on the receiving end of some incredibly meta weapons or even some of the best armour, but you could also get some rather average loot too:
