As a dedicated fan of gripping dramas and captivating performances, I eagerly anticipate the return of HBO’s masterpiece, Euphoria. Having followed the lives of its characters through the high school years, I am intrigued to see how they navigate adulthood in the upcoming season. The time jump promises an exciting new chapter for this talented cast, including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and many others.
Despite ongoing rumors suggesting that “Euphoria” may not come back for a third and final season, HBO has tentatively scheduled a premiere date – albeit unofficially revealed. At a recent tech and media conference hosted by Wells Fargo, Warner Bros. Discovery’s global streaming chief JB Perrette hinted that the highly anticipated new installment of the popular HBO show is expected to air in 2026 (according to Variety).
Previous statements hinted at optimism from Sam Levinson and HBO regarding a potential release of the show in 2025. Recently, actor Colman Domingo, who plays Rue’s sponsor in Euphoria, mentioned that production for Season 3 might finish as early as Summer 2025, with filming possibly starting in January.
The popular series “Euphoria” has faced numerous hurdles in production during its second season, such as the unfortunate demise of Angus Cloud, Hollywood strikes, and the burgeoning careers of its gifted actors like Domingo, Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney. The second installment aired at the beginning of 2022, implying that the show will be back at least four years since its previous season ended. Fortunately, “Euphoria” plans to incorporate a time leap, focusing on the characters as they venture into adulthood.
Coleman and Sweeney have hinted they might reappear, and it’s anticipated that Hunter Schafer, Zendaya, Elordi, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow will also be present. However, there’ll be one conspicuous absence: Storm Reid, who played Rue’s younger sister, Gia, has announced she won’t feature in the upcoming season. Despite her departure, the Emmy Award-winning actress is proud Euphoria is a part of her past and eager to watch the third season unfold.
HBO in 2025: White Lotus, The Last of Us, and a Password Sharing Crackdown
As reported by Deadline, another critically acclaimed HBO series, “The White Lotus,” is set to make a comeback earlier than expected – specifically in February. Additionally, shows such as “The Last of Us” and “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” are also scheduled to return in 2025. An important note for viewers: In 2025, HBO will be tightening their password-sharing policy for Max.
Perrette explained that this process involves both art and science, aiming to distinguish between people who are genuinely active versus those away on vacation or business trips. In the first quarter, they will introduce a method for adding new members. As data is collected and analyzed, we’ll work on improving our detection skills using explicit and implicit signals. Over the next few years, you can expect the filters to become increasingly precise.
You can watch seasons one and two of the series “Euphoria,” featuring Zendaya, Elordi, Reid, Schafer, Sweeney, Apatow, the late Cloud (May he rest in peace), Eric Dane, Barbie Fereira, Demie, Nika King, and Coleman, on Max. After filming for “Euphoria’s” Season 3 is completed, Coleman will team up with Sweeney again to direct his feature film titled “Scandalous!.
