Euphoria’s Eric Dane Reveals ALS Diagnosis And Why He Feels ‘Fortunate’ In Heartfelt Message

Over the past few months, enthusiasts of the HBO series “Euphoria” have had a lot to look forward to since production on Season 3 has begun, over three years after the conclusion of Season 2. Unfortunately, there was some disheartening news revealed on April 10th when Eric Dane, who plays Cal Jacobs, shared that he’s been diagnosed with ALS.

Actor Eric Dane, famously recognized for playing Mark Sloan on “Grey’s Anatomy,” recently issued a health update. In an exclusive interview with People, he disclosed the following details about his wellbeing.

I’ve been given the news that I have ALS, but I’m thankful to have my dear family with me as we embark on this new journey together. I consider myself lucky for being able to carry on working, and I’m excited to get back to work on the set of Euphoria next week. During this time, I kindly request that you respect our privacy.

As a movie aficionado, I’m excited to share that the seasoned actor, aged 52, has expressed intentions to reprise his role in ‘Euphoria’ for its third season, despite recent health news. He’s chosen to keep specifics under wraps, requesting privacy not just for himself but also for his family at this time. Eric Dane, a loving husband to actress Rebecca Gayheart, is a father to Billie Beatrice (15) and George Geraldine (13).
