As a gamer with a keen interest in pop culture and a soft spot for celebrity couples, I can’t help but feel a tinge of envy towards Eva Mendes. Here’s a woman who not only shares her life with the charming Ryan Gosling but also gets to witness his comedic genius on Saturday Night Live!
Eva Mendes is sharing her preferred Saturday Night Live skits that aired during the time her spouse, Ryan Gosling, served as the show’s host earlier in the year.
On Wednesday, the actress made a visit to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to publicize her first children’s book titled “Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries“. However, Jimmy Fallon couldn’t resist inquiring about the actress’s exciting appearance on NBC during season 49 in April, which caused quite a stir as the “Barbie” star.
Mendes expressed her enthusiasm, stating she was backstage, and found the whole experience incredible. Before unveiling it, she mentioned that her top two sketches were ‘Can’t Tonight,’ where Gosling portrayed a man with a Cuban accent after marrying a Cuban woman, and ‘Beavis and Butt-Head.’
What’s amusing about Cuban Papi, as the 2 Fast 2 Furious actress shared with Fallon, is that my father doesn’t actually speak English at all. He’s not someone who just dabbles in it a bit – he doesn’t speak English. And yet, he’s lived here for more than half a century. So, when Ryan and him spend time together, it’s quite like… [Mendes demonstrates their unique form of communication].
She added, “So after what, 12 years, it finally paid off.”
Following the airing of the SNL episode, Mendes – a Cuban-American born in Miami – expressed her appreciation for Gosling’s performance by posting a message on Instagram. “My fellow Cuban made me incredibly proud with this,” was her caption.
Additionally, she bellowed praises towards SNL actors Marcello Hernandez and Kenan Thompson, portraying Gosling’s companions in the skit. In her message, Mendes expressed eagerness for this trio’s forthcoming get-together, stating “I can hardly wait for their next rendezvous.
As a gamer, I’ve been fortunate enough to have two beautiful daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 9, and Amada Lee, 7, with someone special who I first met while working on the film “The Place Beyond the Pines” back in 2012. Over the years, we’ve chosen to keep our relationship out of the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean we don’t show our support for each other. We find creative and subtle ways to do so, like when Ryan Mendes posted a heartwarming message on Instagram after my “I’m Just Ken” Oscars performance earlier this year.
