As a fan who has followed Eva Mendes’ career since her early days, it’s heartwarming to see her find such a deep connection both personally and professionally with Ryan Gosling. Their chemistry on screen is undeniable, and it’s clear that they bring out the best in each other. It’s a rare thing to see a relationship like theirs, where one partner not only supports the other but also inspires them to new heights.
Eva Mendes would consider coming back to acting only if she got a chance to work with her spouse, Ryan Gosling.
For over a decade now, I’ve taken a break from acting. My last significant role was a minor part in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, “Lost River.” More recently, though, I’ve dabbled back into the world of voice acting, contributing my voice to an episode of “Bluey” in 2021.
She shared in an interview with the U.K.’s Sunday Times that she never truly fell for acting. She wasn’t suggesting this as a form of self-criticism, but admitted she may not have been an exceptional actress. However, she did mention that she had some outstanding moments while working alongside incredibly talented individuals.
Mendes notes that her finest performances came when she acted alongside Gosling, particularly in movies such as “Lost River” and “The Place Beyond the Pines”. These were the films in which their professional relationship began back in 2012.
“He gets something out of me that’s never been accessible before,” she said.
Throughout a 16-year span on the big screen, Mendes showcased her talent in various movies such as “The Other Guys”, “Hitch”, and “Girl Interrupted”.
After that point, she’s been devoted to nurturing their two daughters and pursuing various professional endeavors.
Nevertheless, on occasion, she continues to offer acting advice to Gosling, an actor known for movies such as Barbie, The Notebook, and La La Land.
Mendes explained, “I’d suggest making things more straightforward. Essentially, I told him, ‘Just get Barbie to take notice, that’s what Ken is all about.’ This led to a sense of urgency. He was deeply invested in this idea,” he added. “Before he would leave, I’d always remind him, ‘Make sure Barbie notices you, make her fall for you.’
