Primarily narrated from the standpoint of the antagonist, this movie chronicles the chilling tale of a silent killer named Johnny (played by Ry Barrett). This mute murderer creates havoc among a group of adolescents in the Ontario wilderness. An intriguing event occurs when these teens stumble upon a locket dangling from a tree near an ancient fire tower, leading one of them to pluck it off. In response, Johnny’s decayed corpse swiftly rises from the ground.

A vengeful ghost, provoked by the theft, sets out to find the stolen locket. Determined to get it back, Johnny starts murdering anyone who gets in his way. Earlier, the locket had been used to contain his spirit, but when the teens recover the trinket, they realize that returning it won’t reverse Johnny’s return from the dead. Stranded in a remote place, the group finds themselves facing a brutal killer, and many of them may not make it through the ghost’s rampage.

Under the guidance of director Damian McCarthy, the movie titled Oddity unfolds as a chilling narrative about a blind clairvoyant named Darcy (Carolyn Bracken), who embarks on a quest to reveal the facts behind her twin sister Dani’s (also portrayed by Carolyn Bracken) murder. Married to psychiatrist Ted Timmis (Gwilym Lee), Dani met an untimely end when one of Ted’s previous patients, Olin Boole (Tadhg Murphy), came to her home with a dire warning about some unidentified intruder. Following Dani’s death, Olin was convicted for the crime but later discovered dead in a psychiatric institution.

A year after Dani’s tragic demise, Darcy remains consumed by grief and seeks solace in supernatural avenues to uncover the truth. As the proprietor of a curio shop brimming with peculiar artifacts, she possesses a collection of curiosities, including a life-size wooden mannequin that instills fear. This eerie figure plays a pivotal role in the medium’s pursuit of the truth surrounding her sister’s grisly murder. Oddity will be available to stream on Sept. 27.
