- Golden Bottle Caps are coming to Pokémon Go
- Hyper Training missions at the heart of raising IVs
Pokémon Go unveiled Golden Bottle Caps, a new feature that significantly boosts the abilities of your Pokémon by altering their Health Points (HP), Attack, and Defense statistics. These caps have long been whispered about, so it came as no great shock when they were ultimately disclosed to the public.
How do I get a Golden Bottle Cap?
The first Golden Bottle Cap is going to appear as a part of the premium Go Pass: Ancients Recovered. This pass will go live on Monday, June 23rd, to Sunday, June 29th, giving you that timeframe to earn it.
In Pokémon Go, similar to other Go Passes, there’s a free option available, but it’s only the premium pass that grants access to the Golden Bottle Cap. It’s important to mention that acquiring the premium pass early offers an advantage because you’ll receive extra daily tasks to help accumulate points more quickly towards your goal.
What is Hyper Training?
Hyper Training is the term used for when you use a Bottle Cap on your Pokémon. Activating your Golden Bottle Cap will start the process of training your Pokémon, which is how their stats will increase.
Your Pokémon must be a Good Buddy or higher to start Hyper Training.
How many stat points will increase in Hyper Training?
You can increase your Pokémon’s Attack, Defence and HP from nothing to completely full using Hyper Training. There isn’t a limit on the increase; however, you will need to earn the points by doing tasks over the next year.
What tasks increase the stat points of my Pokémon using Golden Bottle Caps?
For Attack, you will need to battle alongside your training Pokémon while they are your buddy.
For Defence, you will need to play, explore and catch with your training Pokémon as your buddy.
With HP (your Pokemon), you should embark on adventures while they accompany you as a companion. This way, you can gather Buddy Candy and spin PokeStops together.
Will my Pokémon’s CP increase during Hyper Training?
Yes, the CP for the Pokémon will increase alongside the stats. This means that if you have a Pokémon that is currently perfect for one of the lower CP-limit PVP leagues, you may want to reconsider Hyper Training it.
Does my Golden Bottle Cap Expire?
Yes, in two ways. Firstly, you do need to use your Golden Bottle Cap on a Pokémon before July 6th, at 11:59 local time.
After employing the Golden Bottle Cap, you will get a full year, or 365 days, to complete all necessary training for your Pokémon.
