If you’re keen on trying out Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, participating in its open beta could be an exciting opportunity for you.
A couple of weeks back, SNK disclosed additional information at the Evo Awards, a platform where they also unveiled comprehensive details about season 1 and the comeback of Kain as a playable character.
Here’s a breakdown of essential information regarding the City of the Wolves Open Beta launch: when it starts, playable characters, game modes, and additional details.

COTW Open Beta Characters
A total of eight characters are playable in the upcoming beta, with Kain being one of them. Here’s the complete list of characters that will be available during the open testing phase.
- Terry Bogard
- Rock Howard
- Mai Shiranui
- Vox Reaper
- Kain
- Preecha
- Hotaru
- B. Jenet
Regrettably, it appears that characters like Tizoc, whom I admire, won’t join us in the open beta. It seems the developers are focusing more on other character types this round, possibly giving less attention to grapplers.
COTW Open Beta Modes
During the open beta, SNK is providing a wealth of play options for fans to savor. You’ll find both competitive ranked matches and more relaxed casual ones, plus there’s an offline guide for newcomers.
On top of that, custom room matches will allow you to play online against friends.
Essentially, that sums up the main points regarding the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves open beta. In the interim, take a look at our firsthand experience with the game for a taste of what’s to come before its release on April 21st.
