For years now, I’ve been fortunate enough to witness the remarkable cinematic journey of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, a filmmaker whose films like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal have left an indelible impact on audiences. Currently, he’s immersed in the pre-production phase of Spirit, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri as leads. Intriguingly, I’ve recently learned from TopMob that Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s trusted associate director, Shanmukha Gowtham Ghantasala, is gearing up to make his directorial debut while the Spirit pre-production continues.
In a recent development, it’s been reported that Abhishek Bachchan will star in Shanmukha Gowtham’s directorial debut. This upcoming action-packed thriller will have Abhishek playing the role of a butcher, and he’s eager to be part of a project that deviates from traditional commercial filmmaking. Interestingly, Shanmukha Gowtham has previously worked with Sandeep Reddy Vanga as an Associate Director on films like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal.
The source shared that the movie is being planned to be made by Peoples Media Factory, who have recently entered the Hindi Film Industry with the release of Jaat. “They are preparing to start filming towards the end of 2025, and they’re actively searching for actors to fill the other important roles,” the source continued.
It’s worth noting that at the end of the film Animal, Ranbir Kapoor appeared as Aziz in a butcher’s role. Abhishek Bachchan’s character might follow a similar transformation. Currently, Abhishek is filming King, where he takes on the antagonist alongside Shah Rukh Khan. This action-thriller is directed by Siddharth Anand.
Abhishek is currently discussing potential roles in several other movies, one of them being a movie produced by Dinesh Vijan. For now, specifics about these projects are being kept confidential. It’s been hinted that the as-yet-unnamed action film will present Abhishek in an entirely new appearance, which is currently being developed.
