EXCLUSIVE: Charlie Vickers & Charles Edwards Reveal They'd Like To Play THIS The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Role Apart From Their Own

As a seasoned lifestyle expert and avid fan of epic fantasy narratives, I must say that the anticipation for the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is palpable. Having traversed the rich tapestry of Middle-earth’s lore over many years, it’s fascinating to witness the intricate unfolding of events thousands of years before the original novels.

If you’ve watched or read The Lord of the Rings, you know it focuses on Sauron’s Control Ring. This golden ring was created to manipulate the leaders of the races of Dwarves, Elves, and Men, who obtained decisive magic rings as gifts.

Upcoming now is the second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” a beloved series that delves into the events preceding Sauron’s ring creation. This captivating show, set in Middle-earth’s Second Age thousands of years before the original novels, is produced by Amazon Studios and New Line Cinema, generating much excitement ahead of its August 29, 2024 release.

As I sat down for an enlightening chat with TopMob’s team, the captivating pair, Charlie Vickers (Sauron) and Charles Edwards (Celebrimbor), shared their personal insights into the weighty responsibility of upholding such a profound heritage.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share that I relish the moments when they engage with nostalgic trivia and, above all, disclose the characters they would embody if given the opportunity beyond their current roles.

Charles Edwards acknowledges that the storyline of Season 2 undergoes a significant change, becoming complex and psychologically challenging. If he had the opportunity to portray any character other than his own within the series, he would have chosen Gil-galad.

1. Edwards frequently uses Gil-galad as his preferred choice due to fitting within his character range, he mentioned. Conversely, Charlie Vickers suggested that a character similar to King Durin II might be more suitable for him, he noted.

Moreover, Edwards discussed the transformation journey of his character Celebrimbor, mentioning that from the initial season to the present, there has been a noticeable change in the character’s development, with complex variations emerging between his role and Charlie Vickers, the actor portraying Sauron.

Beyond this, Charlie Vickers discussed the bodily hurdles they encountered during filming for the second season. They mentioned, “There were numerous difficulties! For one, we had to contend with physical challenges such as maneuvering long robes.” Edwards concurred and further noted, “Indeed! The gowns were problematic, particularly when going down stairs since elves are expected to walk elegantly without looking at their feet.”

Oh man, here’s something mind-blowing! You won’t believe it, but Vickers confessed he wore contact lenses that gave him a blurry vision. He described the feeling as being out-of-this-world, yet admitted they often left him stumbling around!

Initially, all the first three instalments of the forthcoming fantasy series will come out simultaneously. After that, the rest, which are five episodes in total, will be aired weekly on Amazon Prime, concluding on October 3rd.
