EXCLUSIVE: Deepika Padukone locked for King with Shah Rukh Khan; Filming begins on May 18

Following an extraordinary year in 2023 with Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for another big-screen appearance, this time under the direction of Siddharth Anand in the film titled King. Production work on this action-packed thriller is currently in high gear, and the makers have gathered a talented cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat, among others, for the movie. King is set to begin filming on May 18 in Mumbai. Exclusive information obtained by TopMob reveals that Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand have confirmed Deepika Padukone for a significant role in King.

According to a source, it was always Shah Rukh Khan’s plan to include Deepika Padukone in the movie “King.” At first, Deepika’s schedule was inconvenient because she was taking care of her newborn and working out to get back into shape. However, due to delays in the production timeline of “King,” Deepika’s schedule became available again, and she has resumed work on the film. The source added that when scheduling issues arose, SRK considered two other actresses, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Katrina Kaif, for the role.

Following extensive talks and establishing the shooting schedule, everything has fallen into place to bring Deepika Padukone onto the project. Her role will require approximately 10 to 12 days of filming, making it more of an extended guest appearance. Deepika is set to film her part for the movie October. In addition to Deepika Padukone, the film’s cast also includes a significant role that calls for a seasoned actor like Amitabh Bachchan, but at this moment, there’s no clear update on his involvement in the project.
