EXCLUSIVE: Kajol says NO to DDLJ 2, ‘Nobody wants to know if they fought over diapers or not’

Originating from Bekhudi in 1992, Kajol has garnered recognition as one of the most thriving actresses in Hindi films. Notably, her roles in memorable movies such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham have solidified her status. As she gears up for the release of Maa, Kajol shared her thoughts on a potential sequel to DDLJ and delivered an amusing reply to the suggestion.

In a private conversation with TopMob, Kajol mentioned whether there could be a follow-up to the iconic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge from 1995, which starred Shah Rukh Khan alongside her. She stated that she finds it difficult to envision a sequel for DDLJ 2.

“Every movie has a unique enchantment that it weaves, and I can hardly fathom the idea of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge 2. After the train departs, who needs to know what transpired? It’s better left unknown. Are you truly curious about whether they squabbled over diaper changes or not? Frankly, it’s best if we don’t delve into that.” – As an ardent fan, I can’t help but express my sentiments this way.

It’s delightful that it’s concluded so beautifully. The train departed (train went away) – THE END, fantastic. Now you can let your mind run wild with possibilities. They continued to live blissfully thereafter,” she concluded.

When questioned about the follow-up to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai featuring Shah Rukh Khan, the actress from Maa commented that it was an era when people held strong beliefs in enduring love. The 50-year-old star feels that recreating such a story might prove challenging in today’s context.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was wonderful because it presented unique characters and a distinct universe. Despite this, there were individuals who embraced the idea of enduring, once-in-a-lifetime love, which is rare in today’s world. It’s challenging to create a narrative that maintains such beliefs,” the actress remarked.
