EXCLUSIVE: Manisha Koirala admits she became ‘arrogant’ after success; says she regrets ‘some mistakes’

Manisha Koirala is well-known for her exceptional acting skills within the film industry. She has demonstrated her talent through numerous iconic roles. In a conversation with TopMob, the actress admitted that fame had caused her to develop a slight air of arrogance. However, she also expressed regret for certain errors she made in the past.

Manisha Koirala was questioned about how her character developed during a significant shift in her profession and if she ever felt like a changed person during that time. To this, Koirala replied, “Indeed, I believe I transformed. I became somewhat conceited. When success arrives swiftly, without much effort, changes are bound to occur. Moreover, at that stage, you’re inexperienced and youthful, so you understand very little about life or yourself.

She remarked, “It seems to me that this might give off an air of arrogance, a sense that you’re the main character in everything. However, that’s not truly the case. As one grows older and experiences life, this becomes more apparent. At that point in time, I felt like I was the universe itself.

In her own words, the actress from Dil Se acknowledged, “I’ve certainly made some mistakes that I now wish I hadn’t, but I don’t believe those were major errors. To be clear, if I’ve erred in life, it was always for my own sake. If I unintentionally caused pain to someone else, yes, that might have happened.

She went on to explain, “I’m quite sensitive by nature, and a significant aspect of my life has always been the influence of my parents. They remind me to stay humble and keep my feet on the ground, no matter how high I may fly.

In terms of her career, Manisha first entered the Bollywood scene through Subhash Ghai’s 1991 film Saudagar. More recently, she has been featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
