Based on information from reliable sources involved in the project, it appears that Rajkummar Rao is set to venture into production for an unnamed feature film, which Aditya Nimbalkar will be directing. This upcoming movie is a dark comedy, with a murder as its backdrop. The subject matter resonated strongly with Rajkummar Rao, leading him to decide to produce the film himself. Subsequently, he teamed up with Netflix for a direct-to-digital distribution deal.
The source revealed that Rajkummar Rao will begin filming for an as-yet-unnamed Netflix Original in January 2025, and this movie will be released on the streaming platform towards the end of the following year. “Everyone is enthusiastic about the storyline, and they believe it will succeed on digital platforms,” the source said. “It’s a fresh take on the murder genre, with plenty of unexpected twists and turns in the screenplay.
