EXCLUSIVE: Shah Rukh Khan reveals son AbRam’s reaction on joining Mufasa: The Lion King; claims it felt like a ‘legacy’

As a dedicated follower of the illustrious King Khan and his enchanting family, I must confess that watching the journey of Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan, and AbRam in The Lion King franchise has been nothing short of magical. It’s not often we get to witness a family legacy unfold on the silver screen, and this trio is making it happen with grace and charm.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that Mufasa: The Lion King is almost upon us! It’s been announced that Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan would be joining forces with his sons, Aryan and AbRam, for the Hindi version of this film. When the trailer dropped, fans were buzzing with anticipation over hearing the trio’s voices in the movie. Recently, SRK himself has spoken about how it felt like a legacy for AbRam to be part of this project. He also mentioned that AbRam might have thought, “I alone will perform and who else could do it.

Shah Rukh Khan shared that his family, including Gauri, Suhana, AbRam, and Aryan, were all thrilled at home. He went on to say that since they had previously worked together in projects like The Incredibles and The Lion King, and Aryan and he were part of it as well, when AbRam got a similar opportunity, it felt like an extension of their family’s shared experiences.

Beyond discussing his role in The Lion King, the actor explained that it held a deeply personal significance for him. Rather than being starstruck about playing Simba or Baby Mufasa, he felt a sense of responsibility, as if to say, “I will take on this role; who else could?” Given the connection between himself, Aryan, AbRam, and the legacy of Simba and Baby Mufasa within The Lion King, this sentiment seemed to resonate.

Shah Rukh Khan shared that the experience was quite endearing to him. He pondered over whether his children might find it awkward listening to their old voices, or instead, they might chuckle at themselves, surprised by how they used to sound when younger.

Yet, Khan conveyed that this particular instance held great value for him and his kin, underscoring the importance of his lifelong career in the field. Meanwhile, the much-anticipated premiere of The Lion King is set for December 20, 2024, in cinemas.

In terms of his professional endeavors, Shah Rukh Khan will make his next appearance in the film “King,” directed by Sujoy Ghosh. This project also features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma. At present, the movie is being produced.
