EXCLUSIVE: Sivakarthikeyan opens up about Thalapathy Vijay, says ‘His legacy is his own legacy and no one can touch’

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for cinematic trends, I must commend Sivakarthikeyan for his humility and wisdom in handling the immense responsibility that comes with sharing screen space with a legend like Thalapathy Vijay. His ability to acknowledge the unique nature of another artist’s legacy, rather than attempting to mimic or surpass it, is truly commendable.

As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! Just heard that my favorite star, Sivakarthikeyan, had an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla following the triumph of his latest cinematic gem, Amaran. During this heartfelt conversation, he was grilled about carrying forward the illustrious legacy of none other than Thalapathy Vijay – a responsibility that many felt he took on after his stunning cameo in The Greatest Of All Time! Can’t wait to hear what he has to say and learn more about his thoughts on this incredible opportunity.

Speaking about the honor he had in being part of the film, Sivakarthikeyan expressed, “His legacy stands alone and no one can alter or take it away. To me, his cameo felt like a heartwarming moment where an esteemed actor shared screen space with a rising talent. I interpret it as him extending his affection towards me.

The actor, after a journey spanning over three decades filled with personal challenges and victories, acknowledged that he wasn’t ready to simply step in and carry on the previous person’s legacy. Instead, he emphasized that it was a process he had to navigate through carefully.

Additionally, the actor also mentioned a tweet he posted following the release of Thalapathy Vijay’s Thuppakki, which gained popularity over time. He stated, “In the past, I tweeted that those with real guns aren’t the mass but those who have Thuppakki (meaning gun in Tamil) movie tickets…they are the true masses. Now, with the same star, I’m doing a cameo, which is significant for me. I don’t view this as passing on a baton, but rather learning valuable lessons from him.

Right now, Sivakarthikeyan is enjoying the triumph of his recent release, titled Amaran, which was skillfully directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. This movie tells the story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a brave soldier who gave his life while serving our nation in the 44th Rashtriya Rifles regiment.

The movie that’s inspired by his life is derived from a book titled “India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes,” written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. In this production, Sai Pallavi takes on the character of Indhu Mukund, while Bhuvan Arora and Rahul Bose also join the cast in supporting roles.

The film has earned universal acclaim from critics, notably for the exceptional acting of SK and Sai, as well as its writing and soundtrack.
