As an ardent fan of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, I am absolutely thrilled by the intricate web Amar Kaushik has spun across these films! As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement about Stree 2! Starring the brilliant Shraddha Kapoor and the phenomenal Rajkummar Rao, this movie is the newest addition to the thrilling Maddock Supernatural Universe. The box office success it’s experiencing just goes to show how captivating it is for audiences like me! Recently, I had the privilege of chatting one-on-one with director Amar Kaushik, and he graciously shared some insights into creating this universe. He even unraveled the intriguing connection between the post-credit scene in Bhediya and Stree 2 – talk about keeping us on our toes!
In a candid conversation with TopMob, filmmaker Amar Kaushik expressed that as they were creating the movie “Bhediya,” it felt like this universe was being constructed somewhere in the process. He revealed that at the time they began writing the script for Varun Dhawan’s starring role, there was uncertainty about whether Stree 2 would even be produced. Amar shared that everyone assumed Stree 2 wouldn’t be made, so when he informed his team that it had been penned down, they were taken aback by the news
Later on, Amar elaborated, “As the universe was forming, I pondered about finding ways to interconnect all the characters.”
In Bhediya, Abhishek Banerjee’s character has his own separate storyline. His character, who was previously known as Jana in Stree 1, has come from Delhi and continues to wear the same clothes he did earlier. However, instead of being called Jana, they have started referring to him by his full name, Janardan, which was used by his friends in the past

Regarding the scene following the credits of Bhediya, linked to Stree 2, Amar Kaushik stated, “It turned out that he needed to be connected to Stree… When will we reveal that this is the character from Stree?… We pondered on calling these characters ‘from Stree’ in this film. Then we considered linking it to Stree… But why would they appear?”
Amar said, “We contemplated that when I pen down Stree 2, it’ll produce some outcome.” He clarified that they were unsure about the location of the scene, but they had a concept for writing Stree 2
Apart from mentioning that Stree 3 was fully conceptualized and only needed script formatting, Amar additionally disclosed their plans for upcoming movies. Among these ideas is expanding the role of a character who previously had a minor part in previous installments, by crafting a more substantial narrative arc for future productions
