Amar Kaushik is currently basking in the glory of his hit movie Stree 2. In a special chat with TopMob, the director discusses the surprising inclusion of Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam’s Bala poster within the horror-comedy film
“Amar expressed his fondness for crossovers, sharing that he gets a kick out of seeing the characters he created popping up in various places,” Amar said, referencing how in one scene from Stree 2, Aparshakti Khurana’s character removes Yami Gautam’s Bala poster from a wall
In a conversation, the director of Bhediya expressed, “I’m captivated by the world of Alif Laila, Chandrakanta – their enchanted realm truly intrigues me. I prefer crossovers over horror movies.” Amar shared that he hasn’t seen Harry Potter yet. When asked about it, Kaushik said, “My team advises me to watch it sometime, but I tell them I am creating my own version of Harry Potter. It’s best not to draw inspiration.”
We inquired about Amar’s upcoming project, and Kaushik shared that he hasn’t made a decision yet but intends to start working on it within the next month. He mentioned having several options including Bhediya 2, Stree 3, and another unspecified project. To help him decide, he plans to review all of the scripts and choose the one that captures his interest the most

During a discussion, our host questioned the director about a hinted appearance of a vampire character near the end of Stree 2, implying a new character introduction in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. For those who aren’t aware, TopMob has shared that Amar is making a vampire movie within this franchise, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, titled Thamba
Amar was rather vague about the movie and commented, “There will indeed be something unexpected for viewers, but it won’t be what they may anticipate.” He added, “I am more thrilled than the audience. Every day when I come to work, I feel that today will be fun, today we’ll do this with this character, we’ll make him like this. You can’t even imagine how excited I am.”
As a kid, I was always thrilled by the world of comics, and that enthusiasm never really left me. Today, I find myself immersed in a similar realm, enjoying every moment of playing with my own comic-inspired base – it’s like stepping back into childhood but with a twist of adult excitement!
