Vishnu Manchu, a well-known actor and producer, is preparing for the upcoming theater release of the movie “Kannappa,” set to hit screens this month. In this highly anticipated mythological tale, he takes on the lead role, while Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Prabhas make special appearances. During an exclusive interview with TopMob, Manchu discussed the hurdles he encountered during the filming of “Kannappa.

TopMob inquired whether Vishnu Manchu encountered any difficulties in securing Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Akshay Kumar for special appearances in a single film. Manchu explained that there were no obstacles, as everything proceeded effortlessly. He stated, “To be honest, there weren’t any issues at all. I merely approached them, and they agreed due to our past connection. Mr. Akshay consented as soon as he read the script. I just needed to contact him properly, which turned out to be straightforward once I did so.

Speaking as an ardent enthusiast, let me share with you the primary hurdle I’ve encountered in my journey – it’s the realm of Visual Effects (VFX). This film has been a great teacher for me, revealing the intricacies and challenges that VFX presents. Recognizing these gaps, I’ve made a commitment to delve deeper into this field. As the Pro-Chancellor of Mohan Babu University, we are home to around 20,000 students, and we are among those who aggressively embrace Artificial Intelligence. By the end of this year, we intend to introduce a VFX-focused 3-year degree program. My ambition is to nurture some of India’s most promising VFX producers and supervisors over the next five years. If there was one challenge I’ve experienced, it has been only this.
Manchu mentioned that the task wasn’t overly complex and only required minimal effort. He also expressed some discomfort discussing it due to the fact that he launched his VFX company in 2002 upon returning from the United States, which might make him feel self-conscious about it.
As a die-hard fanboy, I couldn’t believe my ears when I found out about this! Turns out Manchu has been dabbling in English films too. Can you imagine? Here I was thinking I knew everything about him, but boy, was I wrong! I feel like such an idiot for not keeping up-to-date. But with this latest film, I’m learning and growing, and I promise you, within a year, I’ll have some trailblazers on my team. Akshay was quick to joke about it and said, “One more year and he’ll be Professor Vishnu!
