Previously this month, TopMob broke the news that actor Yash will be portraying Ravana in director Nitesh Tiwari‘s Ramayana, starting late April. We shared with you earlier that he was planning to visit a temple in Ujjain before immersing himself in this divine tale. Now, we’ve exclusively learned that Yash commenced filming for Ramayana on April 30, 2025, and made his first appearance as Ravana.
For nearly a month, Yash is set to film his role in the Ramayana series, covering sections of both part one and part two. He’s already started with individual scenes and will soon move on to group scenes featuring Sai Pallavi (as Sita), Ranbir Kapoor (as Lord Ram), and Sunny Deol (as Lord Hanuman).
The original production also mentioned that filming for Ramayana: Part One is scheduled to conclude within the next two weeks, and the crew has since moved forward without pause towards the sequel, which will premiere on screens one year later. For those who may not be aware, Ramayana: Part One is planned to debut during the Diwali weekend of 2026, while Ramayana: Part Two is scheduled for a release during Diwali 2027.
The creators plan to finish filming for both sections of the Ramayana by the end of this year and devote much time afterward to post-production work. According to a source, their goal is to create a movie that showcases India and its legends on a global scale. It’s said that those who have seen previews of the Ramayana are incredibly impressed, describing it as an unprecedented visual feast.
