Expelled! sees you framed as a killer in a Girl’s Boarding School, but was it you?

  • Expelled! is a new release from inkle, the folks behind Overboard
  • Play as the wrongfully accused (?) schoolgirl Verity Amersham in a case of attempted murder
  • Either clear your name cleanly or batter your way to acquittal

It’s intriguing to ponder why someone might choose to enroll their child in a boarding school, given potential issues like peer pressure, feelings of loneliness, and sometimes elitist attitudes. However, I should clarify that not all boarding schools are as depicted in the game “Expelled!” where such extreme incidents may occur, but it’s worth noting that such concerns are raised by some critics.

As a fan, I find myself immersed in the intriguing world of “Expelled!” where I assume the role of Verity Amersham, an upstanding student at Miss Mulligatawney’s School for Promising Girls, set in 1922. Despite my spotless reputation, I find myself accused of none other than attempted murder, all because a prefect mysteriously tumbles out of a window!

In this situation, there’s only one mission: To exonerate yourself, whether through honest means or otherwise. You have a single school day to accomplish this task, as events will unfold independently around you, making time your greatest enemy. The methods to clear your name are flexible; you could discover the true culprit, falsely accuse someone else, or even use your hockey stick to resolve things physically. Ultimately, the decision is in your hands!

An inkleing

Endorsing Expelled! is incredibly effortless, and that’s not even delving into Catherine Dellosa’s glowing assessment of it. In my opinion, Inkle has crafted my all-time favorite mobile game with 80 Days, and they’ve struck gold again with the murder-themed visual novel, Overboard!

In Expelled!, your character isn’t as malevolent as you might think. You have the freedom to portray this role sincerely, shift blame onto someone else, or transform into a vigilante reminiscent of a younger Punisher. Plus, there’s a hint that your character may not be as blameless as they initially appear.

You’ll just have to play Expelled! for yourself and find out.
