Explosive Revelations: Reacher’s Race Against Time in Season 3 Episode 6!

Warning: Spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 6.

As only a few episodes remain before Season 3 of Reacher concludes, things are becoming increasingly intense. Following last week’s dramatic cliffhanger, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) finally confronts Julius McCabe. To my surprise, it’s revealed that McCabe and Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) are one and the same individuals – quite a twist!

I must admit, I’m a bit disheartened that I was incorrect earlier, but such is life. The identity of Season 3’s villain wasn’t exactly unexpected, yet there was still a small plot twist. Amazingly, Quinn appears to have no memory of Reacher from their past encounters, despite falling off a cliff and landing in an icy river. It seems he truly did suffer from retrograde amnesia as he claimed during his hospital stay. Who would have guessed?

Encountering what appeared to be a deceased man, Reacher holds back from firing when he discovers that Teresa (Storm Steenson) is somehow alive. Even though he’s picked up crucial details about Quinn/McCabe’s gun operation, her survival seems to be part of a deal Quinn has struck with his client. Therefore, Reacher decides to postpone any retaliation if it means there’s still hope for him and Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) to rescue Teresa.

Duffy’s gallant gesture leads her to kiss Reacher, an action that takes them both by surprise and leaves her feeling somewhat annoyed, though she was the one who instigated it. To clarify, Duffy is the main female character this season. Given how Reacher always shares a kiss with someone in each season, it wasn’t surprising to see him kiss someone, but it was unexpected that it would be Beck (played by Anthony Michael Hall). The plot seems to be taking a turn for the romantic and complex. Sadly, in the latest episode of Reacher, our protagonist is now outside looking in.

Richard Learns the Truth About His Kidnapping and Reacher

In town, Reacher goes shopping with John (Johnny Berchtold) while also arranging a secret meeting with Duffy in a secluded alleyway to return her badge. During this covert encounter, they share a kiss – quite an unexpected moment. However, the real shocker unfolds shortly after, as Villanueva (Roberto Montesinos) suddenly appears from around the corner, disturbing Reacher because he had hoped Duffy would arrive alone. You might recall that Villanueva once impersonated the cop whom Reacher fatally shot during John’s staged kidnapping incident.

Without delay, Richard finds himself at the alleyway following Villanueva, thus unveiling the truth concerning his kidnapping and Reacher’s true identity. Now fully informed, Richard vows to keep this knowledge confidential. Regrettably, his secrecy cannot save the integrity of Reacher’s cover as it swiftly unravels, thwarting any further inquiries into Beck and Villanueva/McCabe’s illicit activities. However, Richard bears no blame for Reacher’s compromised position.

McCabe Makes a House Call and Blows Reacher’s Cover

Suspicious that someone might be spying on his activities, Quinn or McCabe orders his associates to investigate anyone scrutinizing him. In the process, they identify Powell (Owen Roth) and Neagley (Maria Sten). Unfortunately, Powell is eliminated when he refuses to disclose any information, while Neagley manages to outwit the pursuers, enabling her to alert Reacher about Quinn or McCabe’s investigations. However, all signs point to the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit, and when Quinn or McCabe unexpectedly visits Beck’s home, he finds out that Reacher was previously associated with the same unit.

With all secrets exposed, Reacher can’t operate covertly within the organization anymore. He manages to break free and reunites with Duffy following the elimination of some of Quinn/McCabe’s associates. However, since his cover has been blown, all he knew about the gun operation no longer applies. Consequently, they are clueless about when the major sale is taking place or where the guns might be hidden. Fortunately, they may have an idea as to Teresa’s location.

With Reacher now absent from Beck’s side, it’s just Richard and a vengeful Quinn/McCabe left in their midst. After making Richard play Russian roulette in front of his own father, Quinn/McCabe insists on having “a pair”. Given that he has already severed one of Richard’s ears, it seems he desires the other one, and he wants Beck to retrieve it for him. I can hardly wait for the instant when Reacher eventually puts an end to Quinn/McCabe. Isn’t it almost certain that this will occur by the finale of Episode 8?

Reacher and Duffy Set Out to Find Teresa

After tracing the number linked to the custom-made dress that Quinn/McCabe had ordered for Teresa, Reacher and Duffy linked this number to a town called Port Rome and Harley (Brendan Fletcher). Upon their arrival at the marina of this town, they discovered a boat moored off the docks, suggesting that Teresa was there. However, Harley had relocated her at Quinn/McCabe’s request since then. Now, with the boat in flames following an altercation with Harley, Reacher and Duffy concluded he held no valuable information for them and abandoned him to his fate.

As Harley explodes the boat at the dock, the duo returns. With no further clues to uncover, Teresa seems to be swept away by the breeze. But Reacher suspects they still have one more move to make – someone who can help them from within. The challenge is that they must travel to Los Angeles to locate their enigmatic figure.

Currently streaming on Prime Video, “Reacher Season 3” releases new episodes every Thursday. The season finale airs on March 27, 2025.
