Damson Idris is clearly ready for F1 to hit theaters this summer.
The well-known British actor, who previously starred with Brad Pitt in the Formula One movie, made a grand entrance at the Met Gala, embodying a spirit of competition. Footage from the evening showcased Idris stepping out of a Tommy Hilfiger-emblazoned racing car – a vehicle much like the one he’ll be seen in during this summer.

This year wasn’t Idris’ first time at the Met Gala; he attended last year alongside Prada.
As I step into the thrilling world of F1, I find myself embodying a fresh-faced racer, guided by a veteran driver, portrayed by none other than Brad Pitt. In this movie, every time you catch glimpses of Brad or Damson behind the wheel, they’re actually driving these authentic race cars on genuine F1 tracks, as our director, Joseph Kosinski, shared during a press event when the trailer was unveiled.
The main issue was actually the camera system. We needed to create an entirely new camera setup, leveraging all the insights we gained from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and advancing them significantly. It’s like strapping 60 pounds of equipment onto a racing car and then expecting it to perform as well,” explained the director.
F1 hits theaters and IMAX on June 25 from Warner Bros.
