Marvel’s upcoming show for 2025, titled Ironheart, has sparked quite a buzz on social media recently, with opinions flowing in all directions. However, not all the conversation has been favorable, as some viewers have voiced criticisms about different aspects of the series. While it’s fair to say that some of these complaints may have valid points, one particular issue that has been raised is about the protagonist Riri Williams, who ordered food and had it delivered to a supposedly secret location. On the other hand, others argue that this scenario echoes Iron Man’s own actions in the Marvel universe.
In the fifth installment of Ironheart, streamable on Disney+, Riri Williams takes control of Ezekiel Stane’s (or Joe McGillicuddy’s) underground hideout following his capture. Using this location as her base, she searches for a method to dismantle a magical artifact belonging to Parker Robbins. As if working tirelessly for hours, Williams arranges for dinner delivery through Uber Eats, and someone brings the meal to the entrance of the bunker.
One spectator criticized X for scolding Riri, who apparently showed carelessness by disclosing the location of Stane’s secret hideout, where he keeps high-grade military weapons illegally sold in the black market. The user, along with others, seem to disagree with the idea that Riri would make such a blunder, given her reputation as a genius in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here are some comments pointing out other perceived mistakes by Riri:
[Spectator’s Comment] “How could Riri be so reckless and expose Stane’s hideout like that? She’s supposed to be a prodigy!”
[Other Comment 1] “I can understand Riri making mistakes, but exposing Stane’s lair seems too far-fetched for someone with her intelligence.”
[Other Comment 2] “Riri has always been portrayed as a genius inventor. It’s hard to believe she could make such careless moves like this.
- Riri Williams ordered Uber Eats to her secret base……………. Your Marvel genius, everyone. – @heelvsbabyface
- She sold exams face to face for cash in the digital age when the dark web and crypto exists. – @Pieces_of_Bits
- But… The show is coherent! Apparently… – @DaveSavage1982
- And next, Batman having DoorDash show up at the Batcave. Because. Why not. … – @JBirmingham503
A significant number of fans were vocal in their responses to the original post and its feedback, particularly pointing out a notable scene from the 2013 movie “Iron Man 3”. This is often considered an underappreciated film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In this movie, Tony Stark, in the midst of dealing with the Mandarin’s terrorist activities, accidentally revealed his home address to the world. Fans argue that what Riri later did was far more serious.
- Tony literally gave the terrorists his address in his 3rd movie. – @jayjjalen
- Whoโs gonna tell him about Stark?๐๐๐๐ – @KING_JAY248
- How did the terrorist find Tony Starks Location again? – @GeekedOutSteven
- This is easily one of the most on brand iron man things for her to do and hilarious. – @stonymcu
Beyond the incident where Tony Stark publicly accused the Mandarin on live TV and revealed his home address, I share the view that if I were in Riri’s shoes, Tony would have simply opted for food delivery instead of engaging in a high-stakes confrontation. Moreover, considering the interaction between Riri and the delivery person (who appeared rather taken aback by the location), it seems implausible that the deliveryman could have known the precise details of what Riri was up to.
Riri Williams is often likened to Tony Stark, although they follow distinct paths. Unlike Stark, who had billions at his disposal and a mentor, Riri creates a heroic identity without such resources. However, off-screen, Dominique Thorne, the actress portraying Riri in the MCU, has the backing of Robert Downey Jr., the actor who brought Tony Stark to life. Downey has repeatedly expressed his approval of Thorne’s casting.

On Disney+, you can enjoy “Ironheart” along with numerous other Marvel Cinematic Universe shows. The ad-supported plan commences at a monthly cost of $9.99, while an ad-free experience is available for $15.99 per month. Alternatively, opt for the annual subscription that will set you back $159.99 yearly, offering a 16% savings compared to the monthly plan. Check out the deal here!
Unfortunately, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Ironheart has been targeted by review bombing, even before it was premiered. Critics have given the series mixed reviews, yet some fans find it enjoyable and suggest others watch the show for themselves. My suggestion would be to disregard any commotion about the Uber Eats scene and watch the entire show to form your personal opinions.
