In an unexpected turn of events, the latest interpretation of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” has incorporated The Thing’s well-known catchphrase, “It’s Clobberin’ Time.” The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film is striving to bring authentic cinematic renditions of Marvel’s original family, leaving fans hopeful that some of their beloved comic book characteristics and traits will be showcased.

In a fresh sneak peek for Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, the character Johnny Storm, played by Joseph Quinn, poses the question, “Is it pounding time?” This phrase is usually linked with The Thing, but the upcoming movie hints at its potential appearance as the release date approaches.

At 46 seconds into the trailer, Quinn’s voice can be heard questioning Ben Grimm about whether “Clobberin’ Time” had arrived. In response, Ben Grimm, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, excitedly exclaims “Oh, absolutely!” However, it remains uncertain what exactly is transpiring in the scene with this dialogue, as it is spoken over a clip of Ben rushing through pillars to demolish a building.

This scene is a delightful nod to the 2005 live-action Fantastic Four film, produced by 20th Century Fox. In that film, Chris Evans’ character, Johnny Storm (who reappeared later in Deadpool & Wolverine within the MCU), playfully displayed a prototype action figure of The Thing to Michael Chiklis’ Ben Grimm. Upon pressing a button, the toy declared, “It’s Clobberin’ Time!”, making Johnny the first to utter this phrase in the movie before Ben used it during the climactic battle.

In the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” (Phase 6’s initial movie), Marvel Studios delves into a story centered around the legendary team of four, as they confront the impending menace of Galactus in an alternate world. Pedro Pascal plays Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby steps into the role of Invisible Woman, with Quinn and Moss-Bachrach making up the remaining members.
