FBI’s OA May Need All The Help He Can Get In The Fall Finale, But Will He Learn From Jubal’s Mistake?

As a seasoned gamer and long-time FBI fan, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and concern as we approach the fall finale of this gripping series. Having witnessed the trials and tribulations of our favorite agents over the years, I find myself crossing my fingers for OA in the upcoming episode “Riptide.

heads up: details from Episode 7 of FBI Season 7, titled “Monumental”, may reveal plot points. This episode will be available for streaming the following day with a Paramount+ membership.

With just one more episode left before wrapping up its TV schedule in 2024, the FBI is gearing up for an intense fall finale. This upcoming episode could prove especially challenging for the character played by Zeeko Zaki. The latest promo that aired at the end of “Monumental” on CBS and the network’s description suggest that his character will require all the assistance he can get. Given that “Monumental” marked the return of Jubal from suspension, one might ponder whether OA will manage to steer clear of repeating Jubal’s error when a case becomes personal.

Reminding you of a past event, here’s a recap in my own words as a gaming enthusiast: Back in the fifth episode of this season, I found myself in hot water due to an incident involving my son, Tyler. He was apprehended by the NYPD during a protest at Hudson University, known for its high-risk atmosphere within the Dick Wolf TV universe. In a bid to free him, I intervened with a beat cop which ultimately led to the news reaching the NYPD commanding officers. My superior, Isobel, was not pleased and reported my actions to OPR, resulting in my suspension.

After “Monumental,” Jubal’s suspension was lifted, and Isobel clearly expressed her happiness to see him return. He appeared to have learned from his temporary dismissal. Whether this change will persist when his personal life intertwines with work in the future, as the series progresses, is yet to be determined. But for now, things are going well.

As I eagerly await the start of the 2025 TV season, I can’t help but keep my hopes high for Jubal, especially after his recent suspension and the tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come in the OA’s final episode before the break. Check out the teaser for the fall finale, titled “Riptide,” below:

As a fervent fan, I’m thrilled to share the news that Chicago Med alum, Guy Lockard, is reprising his role in FBI as Clay, an old army buddy of OA, who hasn’t been seen since Episode 3 of Season 7. This character has always had a mysterious air about him, and it seems like he might be causing trouble for OA. When Maggie found out what was going on, she did her best to reason with her partner and hopefully steer him away from any potential danger.

Initially, it seemed to me that Clay’s acceptance of OA’s Creative Integration deal was overly casual, suggesting there might be more to it than met the eye. And indeed, it seems that is the case, as suggested by the episode description from CBS, which provides a bit more clarity.

Following a tragic incident where three customs officials were fatally shot during a cargo robbery, the group turns to OA’s former military comrade, Clay, for assistance in investigating whether this crime was orchestrated from within their ranks.

I sincerely hope that the team made the right decision by placing their trust in Clay and not regretting it later… I just don’t want him to prove loyal to Clay only for Clay to deceive him in return. It seems that this episode may pose challenges for OA, as he doesn’t appear likely to compromise professional boundaries as Jubal did when he got into serious trouble with Isobel due to his personal feelings. However, it appears this won’t be an easy chapter for him.

Absolutely, it’s common for major characters to have their personal lives impact their professional roles in some way; however, what stands out in Season 7 is the repercussions they encounter due to Isobel. Don’t miss the fall finale of FBI on CBS this Tuesday, December 17 at 8 p.m. ET, followed by FBI: International at 9 p.m. ET and FBI: Most Wanted at 10 p.m. ET.
