On The Touré Show, rapper Ferg candidly discussed the current standing of A$AP Mob, delving into their global position during a 56-minute conversation.
In a direct question about his current involvement with A$AP, Ferg explained that he identifies as an A$AP member but feels that the group, as it once was, no longer exists. He stated, “I am an A$AP, but I don’t believe there is an A$AP anymore.” He elaborated by explaining that there are no new Cozy Tape releases, no office or record label, and no A$AP Worldwide record label in existence. He considers it a part of the past. The rapper further discussed the enduring legacy of the group, noting that people still associate with the name, but when they think about A$AP, they primarily remember him and Rocky as the musicians responsible for the music. While he acknowledged the contributions of Bari and Yams to the group’s success, he emphasized that he and Rocky were the public faces of A$AP.
Ferg explains that he remains connected with Rocky and other members of their old crew, but since the A$AP Mob era, they’ve all gone their separate ways to form their own circles of friends and individual groups. He further noted, “We started as a collective, we enjoyed it, and we’ve evolved into various entities. However, we initially came together as a collective to achieve something positive, generate opportunities for ourselves, our families, and our companions. So we excelled at it. We accomplished that for 12 years.” Recently, Ferg has been busy, with his latest album, “Darold“, released in November, which includes collaborations from Mary J. Blige and Denzel Curry.
