Fire Country Isn’t Airing An Episode On CBS This Week, And There’s An Important Reason Why

The mid-season return of “Fire Country” is yet a few weeks off in the 2025 television lineup. Nevertheless, CBS has been rebroadcasting episodes to keep us entertained until then. However, this week, there won’t be any reruns, and it’s due to an essential reason.

This past week has been particularly tough for California due to the rampant wildfires. Many residents, including some prominent celebrities, have tragically lost their homes as a result. Firefighters and emergency services are currently tirelessly working around the clock to manage these fires and assist those affected. Consequently, “Fire Country” will not air this week.

This week, CBS decided to postpone the airing of “Fire Country” in light of the ongoing wildfires in Southern California, which began on January 7. The decision was made as a gesture of sensitivity towards those affected and out of respect for the thousands impacted by these destructive fires in the Los Angeles area.

As the spin-off of Fire Country’s Sheriff Department is on its way, I had a chat with Diane Farr about her eagerness to delve deeper into the relationship between Sharon and Mickey.

In essence, this decision proved vital and was highly reasonable. The show “Fire Country” revolves around battling wildfires and other fire-related crises in Northern California. It primarily focuses on a Cal Fire firefighter department and portrays events that bear striking resemblance to the ongoing situations in LA. Thus, given its proximity to real-life experiences, pulling it from CBS’s schedule this week seems particularly fitting.

Tonight, on January 10th, NCIS: Sydney is set to be aired at its usual 9 p.m. time slot on Fire Country. This means that CBS’s Friday schedule will feature two consecutive episodes of the NCIS spinoff, airing at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., followed by S.W.A.T. at 10 p.m. However, please note that these are repeats, as the network has always planned to start broadcasting new episodes for most of its shows from late January onwards.

In other words, let’s hope that the ongoing fires in Los Angeles won’t postpone the release of “Fire Country” or cause any issues with its production timeline.

Mark your calendars for January 31 at 9 p.m. ET, because the mid-season premiere of our favorite show is about to hit the screens! I can hardly contain my excitement as we delve back into the captivating world of our characters. This episode promises to shed light on some intriguing cliffhangers that have left us hanging.

We’ll finally get a glimpse into Eve’s complex relationship with her father, which has been a central element in the plot. Additionally, the steamy one-night stand between Gabriela and Jake will undoubtedly be addressed, leaving us to wonder what the future holds for these two characters. Lastly, Bode and Audrey’s predicament involving a swimming pool seems to be far from over, so we’ll have to tune in to find out how they manage to escape this tricky situation.

Additionally, as per ScreenRant’s report, the majority of filming for the show takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Consequently, unlike series set in Los Angeles such as Grey’s Anatomy and NCIS that may experience production interruptions, Fire Country should remain unaffected by these delays due to its filming location.

It might be that Max Thieriot’s show gets delayed from the prime-time schedule until the Los Angeles fires are contained, due to respect and sensitivity towards the situation. We’ll let you know more as it comes in. In the meantime, you can look forward to two episodes of NCIS: Sydney and one episode of S.W.A.T tonight. If you’re interested, you can also stream Fire Country with a Paramount+ subscription.

Assuming no changes occur, the upcoming episodes of the drama will air on CBS every Friday at 9 PM Eastern Time, starting from January 31.
