Fire Country’s Max Thieriot Told Me How Three Rock Will Still Play A Big Role In Bode’s Story, Even Though He Doesn't Live There Anymore

As a dedicated fan of Fire Country who has followed Bode’s journey from the very beginning, I must say that the news about Season 3 sends my heart ablaze like a wildfire! The fact that our beloved character is no longer an inmate and is on his way to becoming a firefighter is nothing short of exhilarating.

In Season 3 of Fire Country, we witness a significant shift as Bode is no longer confined within Three Rock’s walls. Now that he’s a freeman on the path to becoming a firefighter, I inquired Max Thieriot about how the camp will factor into the series with his character absent.

Before the debut of “Fire Country” on the 2024 TV lineup, I had an interesting conversation with Thieriot about Bode’s storyline for this season. Given his transformation from an inmate, one cannot help but wonder how Three Rock will factor into the upcoming episodes. Intriguingly, Thieriot and the co-creator confirmed that it will remain a significant aspect, with Thieriot describing it as an ongoing “key element,” elaborating:

It’s clear that the campus plays a significant role throughout the series, as it is a crucial aspect not just of Edgewater but also for the characters and their community. Even though Bode isn’t an inmate at this time, there will be others connected to the campus who will draw him into the storyline.

According to what he mentioned, there are familiar faces we’re fond of residing at Three Rock. Among them is Eve, the captain, who shares a close bond with Bode, and Cole, who remains incarcerated there. Notably, there are existing ties to the camp, but also possibilities for new relationships due to Manny’s legal predicaments and the arrival of a former convict, portrayed by Leven Rambin, this season.

Discussing further on how Three Rock figures into the junior edition of Fire Country, Thieriot hinted that Bode’s journey will intersect with the camp at an early point during the season. He elaborated as follows:

Moving ahead, it seems there will continue to be a strong focus on Three Rock, with stories unfolding concurrently as they happen. Although he may not be directly involved, he is still part of the ongoing events over there. You’ll likely witness this in perhaps episode three and beyond.

It’s quite plausible that Bode has a strong desire to actively participate in aiding the camp, as he demonstrated last season with his heartfelt efforts to preserve it. His dedication towards assisting the residents is evident, and it seems he holds them dear. There might be more collaboration between him and Eve. Moreover, there’s speculation that Manny could reside at the camp. Rambin’s fresh character, an ex-convict, could potentially guide Bode through his new phase in life while helping him maintain ties to his past.

It seems everything points toward Three Rock remaining central in the upcoming series, as suggested by Thieriot’s remarks, and that definitely gets me pumped!

Apart from the Bode actor verifying the camp’s role this season, the showrunner of Fire Country further emphasized that the camp has been integral to the series since its conclusion in Season 2. During my chat with Tia Napolitano regarding the Season 2 finale, I also brought up Three Rock and potential developments for Season 3. When asked about it, she hinted that we won’t be saying farewell to the camp as it will continue to be a cornerstone of the show, given that both Eve and Cole remain in its vicinity.

She additionally mentioned that Bode might experience a small spell of homesickness or dedication this season, and I can definitely envision that being the case. He holds that place in such high regard, and it played a significant role in granting him his freedom. Thus, I think he’ll feel compelled to repay the camp now that he’s a free individual.

To see how Three Rock continues to be part of Fire Country, you can catch new episodes of Season 3 as they air on CBS every Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET or you can stream them the next day with a Paramount+ subscription.
