This afternoon, Hiroshi Fujiwara shared images of a monochrome RX-78 Gunpla figure on his Instagram, revealing a sneak peek at the upcoming collaboration between Gundam and fragment design. The model’s shoulder on the left side displays the product code for this unique version as RX78FRGMT. Additionally, fragment design’s iconic lightning bolt symbols can be found on its left chest, marking it as an exclusive item.
Back in December 2024, Fujiwara unveiled a surprising Instagram post hinting at the collaboration between fragment design and Gundam. The announcement showcased a fresh graphic design, merging fragment’s signature lighting patterns with the classic “G” insignia of Gundam.
Aside from the RX-78 Gunpla, the collaboration is said to include an array of collaborative items such as apparel and accessories. At the time of writing, no additional information has been unveiled regarding the collaboration’s launch dates. But it’s likely that the Gunpla will be available at the upcoming “GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -FINAL-” events in Tokyo and Osaka, which will take place in February and April respectively.
