As a seasoned golfer with a penchant for sneaker culture and an eye for style, I must say that Nike’s Air Max Plus Golf Sunset is a dream come true! The leather upper, while a departure from the traditional mesh, adds a touch of sophistication to this iconic silhouette, making it perfect for the fairways.
After unveiling plans for a black/white adaptation of the Air Max Plus golf edition, Nike has now followed up with a straightforward Triple White variant and is preparing to launch the design in what might be its most identifiable color scheme: Sunset. Although it may be tricky to spot the changes compared to the casual version, there are some enhancements that make it more golf-friendly.
Initially, the top part, typically made from mesh, is replaced with leather in the golf edition of this model by Nike. They did this for two reasons: to shield the foot from water and maintain the orange gradient’s aesthetic appeal. Subsequently, the mudguards and backtabs are upgraded from synthetic material to premium pebbled leather, enhancing its overall look. Lastly, a piece of textured suede appears on the tongue to encircle the bubble Swoosh. As expected in any Nike golf shoe, there’s also a reinforced outsole that provides extra grip on fairways and greens.
After adding up the costs for the upgrades, it’s reasonable that the final price of $185 USD aligns with Nike’s usual pricing for their basic Air Max Plus models. As for when they will be available, a definite date hasn’t been set yet, but they should arrive some time during the upcoming spring season.
